Welcome to the Castle Dome City Ghost Town
Castle Dome City consists of 60 plus buildings salvaged from the desert by Stephanie and Allan Armstrong. The artifacts were collected from the desert, 30 mines Allen was in and donations from several sources. There is a section representing the 50s and 70s you will tour. This is the longest active mining area in Arizona. They were active from the 1860s with on again off again mining through 1979. You have such buildings as the 50s area between the school house and the mercantile, barber shop, bank, machine shop, sheriffs office, hotel (keep an eye out for the Lady in White that has been seen upstairs), just to name a few. When you get to the saw shop there is a path to take you to the 70s section. From there you will see a path to the newest additions to the museum. Go by the old truck and across the bridge (no fishing please) to the area that has the cemetery, location of the first cabin, doctors office and post office to name a few. There are places along the way to rest and an outhouse if needed. Your all enclosed so you can't get lost. Take your time for there are writings along the way, thousands of artifacts to see and maybe even a Jack Rabbit.
Entrance fee for all this for just $20 cash $21 credit card Ages 7 through 11 $7 6 and under free
